Modified BIOS Collection for LGA771 to LGA775 Xeon Mod

bios logo

This page contains a collection of modified BIOS files designed to add support for LGA771 Xeon processors on LGA775 motherboards. The files collected here were obtained from open community resources, including https://ideafix.su/ and https://genius239239.neocities.org/, as well as other public repositories.

Important Notes & Warnings

  • Check Your Revision: Always pay close attention to the Motherboard Revision (Rev). Flashing the wrong revision can damage your board.
  • No SLIC: These mods do not contain SLIC tables (for Windows OEM activation).
  • Microcodes: Unless otherwise stated, all mods contain microcodes only for 45nm/65nm CORE/XEON CPUs.

Archive Structure

Most downloadable archives contain two folders:

  • ORIG: The original manufacturer BIOS image. We explicitly recommend flashing this first to test system stability.
  • 771: The modified image with added/replaced microcodes.

Understanding the Notes in Parentheses

You will see specific notes next to the motherboard names. The first value inside the parentheses usually indicates the BIOS Version (e.g., F5, 1.20).
Other common notes mean the following:

  • Only 65/45nm Core/Xeon. Support for older CPUs (Pentium 4, Pentium D, and similar generation Celerons) has been removed to free up space. However, Pentium E and Celeron E series are still fully supported.
  • Added 771 Microcodes. The mod retains the original microcode set and simply adds microcodes for all 45/65nm Xeons (excluding NetBurst-based models).

Abit

WARNING: THE BOARDS BELOW DO NOT SUPPORT XEON E5xxx! Only E3xxx/X3xxx are supported (e.g., X3363 2.83GHz/1333MHZ or X3370).

  • ABIT IX38 GT3 (V10, V12, V13 beta, unknown E0 support)
  • ABIT IX38 QuadGT (V10, V11, V12, V13, V14, V19 beta, unknown E0 support)
  • ABIT IX48 GT3 (V10, V11, V12 beta, unknown E0 support)

MSI

Confusion with PCB revisions combined with the lack of ROM ID protection bricks boards. Flashing is done entirely at your own risk; having a programmer handy in case things go wrong is HIGHLY recommended.
